The Tide of Time is about an older widower gentleman who finds his way after his wife's death by standing near an old steam engine at Minnehaha Falls park in south Minneapolis. He's also raising his fifteen year old grandson. At the park, the authorities search for a missing woman of whom he was once engaged to, back in 1970. Former friends enter his life which brings him out of his mild depression. His daughter who had been institutionalized for depression after the death of a young child and the father of her teenaged son who her dad and the neighbor, the grandma, are helping to raise as she becomes stronger.
While telling stories about railroads and the steam engine, school teachers bring students and they set up models about how the steam engine works. Also, there is an older woman dressed in uniform who passes out cookies to anyone who wants one just like she did when the soldiers jumped onto the train and went off to war during the wars.
I hope to have this book on the market by the first of the year.
